I'm gonna shoot Pooka

All right. As I begin to write this, I'm realizing that my previous post was more on the negative side, and the one I am about to write isn't happy either. Maybe I'm just a grumpy person, and all I wanna do is complain. Maybe it's not anger. Maybe I'm just very passionate about certain things. Like, I'm pretty passionate about not just things like movies and comics (or the two combined, which is a total nerdgasm for me. Did you guys see Iron Man and the Dark Knight?!), but I can also get fired up about principles. Principles like justice and mercy and honor.
Which brings me to what I came to the computer to post about. Why the #%@! do our neighbors feel like it's cool that their dog, Pooka, craps on our lawn?! It's one thing to be walking your dog when, in a fit of doggy excitement, it goes to the bathroom in your neighbor's yard. At which point you go and get your gloves and a bag or whatever and pick it up. I'm even willing to allow a freebie, and let the poo lie the first time. Much like the poo next to our front door, which has been beautifully preserved in pristine condition by the wonderful arctic climate we enjoy here in Utah.
But get this. We keep finding poo on our lawn! I tried to give our new neighbors the benefit of the doubt and consider the possibility that the poo could be coming from passing dog walkers. But we have never had poo show up on our lawn...until those people and Pooka moved in. And tonight, I had my suspicions confirmed. So, we're sitting in the living room trying to agree on something to watch, when we hear a voice outside our window: "Pooka! C'mon! Time to go to the bathroom!" Against my wife's protests for discretion, I jumped up from the couch and threw open the curtains. And what did I see? Pooka. Taking a crap. On our front lawn. Next to our little tree. I watched our neighbor tell his stupid dog (and he is stupid by the way. They have to scream his name, like, 40 times before he understands them. Nassari will confirm this.) to take a dump as he was standing in our yard. And no clean up after.
What really bums me out though is that our neighbor didn't see me staring at him from the window. I was hoping that he would see me staring at him. I had that "you are an idiot" look on my face. You know, the same one that you give to bad drivers when they drive through stop signs and almost hit you. Sadly, he did not see my discontent or feel the sting of my stare which would have opened a pit of shame in his soul, causing him to not only pick up the poo, but all the other poos that Pooka has so graciously donated to our lawn. *sigh* Now I have to go talk to the guy.
And that sucks, 'cause I'm not the confrontational type. I'll talk big about stuff, but when it comes to ruffling feathers, it's just not my style. I guess I just need to start asking myself the tough questions. Like, do I feel passionate enough about Pooka's poo on my grass? Am I willing to ruffle feathers on account of dog crap? What, do ye suppose that mercy can rob justice? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. Bing Crosby said that. No. Wait. It was Alma. The point is, maybe I should check the size of the poo. I'm such a coward.

To make matters worse, the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica still isn't online yet. Now I'm mega sad.
Kent and I went to the Dollar theater last night and saw Bolt. We loved it. It made us laugh all the way through. If you haven't seen it, I recommend that you do. Another recommendation is Bread & Tulips. Its an Italian movie. Subtitles are a must. i love that its in Italian, it makes it even better and authentic. Kent has owned it for a while now but I just saw.  Its a happy movie. It will make you want to visit Venice!  By the way, we love foreign films. If you have any suggestions, send them our way. :)
I'm so glad to be going back to work tomorrow! Its crazy because once there I'm going to wish I was home. I'm never satisfied. Speaking SATISFACTION, Kent took me to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to get a Apple pie Carmel Apple. If you have never had one, you are missing out!! I first had one in Park City while serving there. When my mom would send me money, I would treat myself and my companion with one. It represents all that is good and glorious. I want one again!  Darn, its Sunday. Anyways, when he gave me the idea of going to get one, I got so excited like when a little kid gets when he/she is going to Chuck E Cheese.  We got to Riverwoods and as soon as i walked in, the smell of that place made me so nauseous. Kent asked me if we should leave, I considered it, but the idea of getting my carmel apple made it all worth it!  I ate the whole thing and I'm not ashamed.
Moral of the story, watch good movies and eat carmel apples.

Baby's heartbeat

As much as I would like to stay home all day to be able to sleep whenever i want to and wear comfortable clothes, I don't think i could handle it. With Kent working and being a student full time i am left all alone at home and its boring!! I work at a Dental office in Orem. I usually work around 30 hours a week.  This week i only had to work 1 day due to our Doctors going to a Dental Convention in SLC.  I have no idea what to do with my spare time.  To make matters worse, we don't have cable. There's no option to veg. This morning i woke up with a huge headache, slight nausea and a sore throat. I never get sick, why now?  Its 5 and I still feel the same.  I feel like i need to exercise more but the weather outside gets me in no mood.  I'm thankful to have an understanding husband who doesn't hesitate to do something for me. He has been such a wonderful support and strength. I know with his help, the next 5 or 6 months left will be easier to handle.

Yesterday afternoon Kent and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was an amazing experience that has brought Kent and I great joy and comfort. I feel at peace now that I am certain there is a baby inside.  When our Doctor placed the ultrasound hand piece on my lower abdominal I got goosebumps when I hear the heartbeat . It was beating so fast and strong.  For a second it seemed Kent was going to cry. We were both starting to get a little emotional but we stayed strong.
The doctor says I'm 15 weeks along. Next month we will have an Ultrasound and find out the sex.  We cannot wait to find out what we are having.  Suddenly having nausea, back pains, a full bladder every hour seem all worthwhile.  NE

My Valentine

Its Valentines day today! Its special to me for many reasons.  Kent left early this morning to the store to buy somethings for breakfast. i have a feeling he has something up his sleeve. He always does. I remember the first time he sent me something on Valentines Day. While he was on his mission, he sent me a picture of him with a note. I still have it.  The second Valentines, I was on a mission.
He sent me a box full of candy to share with my companions. He sent me 3 or 4 boxes of sweethearts which i didn't even eat til April. One morning, while having personal study, I opened a box and emptied the candy on my desk. I glanced at the inside of the box and noticed that there was a note inside. Kent had opened the box and had decorated the inside and written " Will you be my Valentine?".  He is clever. I would have felt bad if I had never noticed it and gave the candy to someone else.
Third Valentine I was serving in Park City and I received another box full of goodies. Inside the box was a smaller Chinese box full of  Chinese fortune cookies which he made himself and placed inside personalized fortunes.  Last year he surprised me with a candle light dinner. He made a delicious meatloaf shaped into a heart.  I love him for being caring and attentive.  Today I slept for most of the day due to being preggers and he cleaned the house and made a wonderful dinner. What more could i ask for. He is my Valentine and will forever be my best friend! Te amo.
