Sunday stroll

Sunday's are our longest and busiest days of the weeks.
Is that the same for you?

By the time its 6pm our children are starting to get super antsy and out of control. Usually a nice stroll around the duck pond or temple grounds helps get the wiggles out.

Here are some cute videos of Will singing and telling me about the temple.

5 years down

Happy 5th Anniversary to us!

Wow! 5 years? really? Amazing how fast time flies when you have kids!
Sometimes it feels like we have been married forever.
Its amazing how much you still keep learning, how many times you make the same little mistakes, how many times you say I am sorry and how many times you say I love you.

How is it that 5 years is a short time yet a long time too?

Today we spent the day with our family.
My aunt asked us if we wanted her to watch our boys all day so that we could spend time together. We both felt that being with family was exactly how we wanted to spend and celebrate 5 years. Family relationships and marriage are the most important things in this world to us and today we had fun as a family.

We visited Downtown SLC and ate at Cheesecake Factory that evening.

Kent got me my favorite Dulce de Leche Cheesecake for dessert.

After we came home we put the kids to bed and Kent and I skipped to go see Pacific Rim.
(it was awesome)

I think 5 years looks amazing on us.

Pioneer Day 2013

Family came to visit this week!
Best mini family vacation!

My aunt Diana came up to pick up her daughter from BYU-I.
They all stayed with us about 2 full days and then headed home.
While they were here we decided to take them to the Pioneer Festival my town puts on every year on July 24th to commemorate the Pioneers who came and settled in UT.

It was so much fun!

Will went to go to Deputy school and got a sweet badge!

 Mustache, anyone?

Found these delicious Squash Blossoms from a local vendor and cooked them inside our quesadillas.
they were so good!

Grateful when family comes and visits us.

Today we threw a surprise birthday party
for my sweet sister in law.

We drove up to her house around noon
to have lunch with her little family.
Little did she know that her younger brother would be driving down from Rexburg for a weekend surprise!
My sister in law is a wonderful person.
She is always thinking of others.
There has never been a moment where she
wasn't there to lend a hand.
My babies loves her.
I love her.
And her family loves her too.

Thank you for letting us crash all day today!

We love you.
Happy Birthday

Today we kept Sam's birthday pretty chill since we celebrated with family a couple of weeks ago.
Sam didn't mind.
That's what I love about him, he just goes with the flow.

Kent helped me with the sprinkles. We wanted it to spell out SAM 1 but for some reason the S looks more like a 5.
HA!
( its 5am, somewhere)

Sam turns 1

Sam turned 1 today!!!

I can not even begin to tell you how amazing this boy is. He has only been in our family for a short time and already made a huge impact.

As you know I have been keeping monthly record of him and his progression and it has been fun seeing him grow.

I try to have a chalk board next to him showing how old he is but he was not having it. he kept wanting to touch it and throw it on the floor.

So this is what we got instead.

He talks so much!!

He repeats everything we say and do.
He sleeps amazing.
It only took us 2 days to get him back into his ol' schedule.
He eats everything.
We started giving him whole milk and he loves it.
He growls a lot!
He loves to play with Will. Will is an amazing big brother to him.
He watches out for baby Sam.
He can stand all by himself, but doesn't walk yet. which is fine!
He already gets into trouble... and I want him to stay a baby forever!

29th Birthday

to me!!!

It first i had mix feelings about all of this but after setting some goals and looking back at all that I have accomplished up to this point, I am excited for what my thirties will bring.

there are so many new and exciting projects in the horizon for us.

Today, Kent treated me so well. He always does. Its never a dull moment with this guy.

First he surprised me at work with a cute banner, balloons and a card on our car. ha ha! it was great.

A Dr. Pepper Slurpee was up next.

then we took the kids to Riverwoods for a walk and kent surprised me with dinner at Tucanos.
(best Brazilian buffet in town)
then we were caught in a Utah monsoon so naturally we took cover at
Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for a delicious Apple Pie carmel apple.
( tradition of course)

Thank you Mom and Judy for my lovely gifts!

While we were at Grandma and Grandpa's, Will and Sam had a little surprise waiting for them every morning.

Even though they have the busiest lives out of anyone I know, they still took time to open their home for us. Even in the mist of work, callings, house construction... you name it, they took time. The uncles slept in the loft to give us a room and that is the sweetest thing ever. They took care of the boys too!
Grateful for them.

But really its all for their grandkids.

Grandma Judy sure knows how to spoil her grandkids.
She really IS made of magic and love.

Our last day in SD

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala

After we packed up the car and left our in laws, Kent took me to one of his favorite spots in San Diego.

It was so beautiful! A little hidden treasure.
I thought it was pretty cool that it was founded on July 16th 1769.
244 years before I was born.

** Kent and I would love to build our home to look like an old mission**

Part of my gift for our anniversary this year was to have Kent go see the Padres at Petco Park. We've toured the stadium but he has never been to a Padres game.

So, since my dad works there part time, he got us free tickets!
It was a fun night.
My mom and Kent's parents watched our boys that evening. It was such a treat!

Birthday Party for the boys

Will and Sam had a birthday party in San Diego on July 6th!
First of all, I have the coolest family ever and that is defiantly including my in laws too! This party came together because of them. Its not easy planning a party when you don't even live there.
My Uncle Leo came early that morning and did so much for us that day. My sweet day got up early and saved us a sweet area at the park. My aunts all brought a delicious side dish. my mom made the best rice, beans and Carne Asada oh and we had like 5 different kinds of salsa. My sweet mother in law Judy bought and cut up all the fruit AND brought the yummiest and cutest cake ever!
But what really made this so great, was having so many come and share this wonderful day for our boys.
Thank you everyone!
For the decorations, I printed a picture of Sam's first year. Each picture represents a month.
For Will I printed out a picture of when he was 1, 2, 3 and 4!
It was such an easy decoration and so cheap too.
After the party, i just gave them to my mom.

Most of my decorations, I made to save money.

Thank you MOM and Judy!!!!!!

Coronado Beach

Today the weather was perfect.
We decided to take the boys to the beach and try out the fun beach stuff Grandma Judy got them that morning.
The boys loved playing in the sand, they didn't want to leave!

July Fourth

Independence day in our favorite city.

We had a pretty chill day with family.
We spent the morning with my family at my Aunt's Spanish Branch annual breakfast.
Will played with cousins and got soaked with water guns. Mean while Sam was stuffing his cute face with whatever my mom gave him. Kent and I enjoyed talking with my cousins and branch members.

Later that day we had dinner with my in laws. One of the many things that I love about my mother in law Judy, is her love to decorate for any occasion. I love that. Anyone that knows me, knows that I am a sucker for that.

My cousin Caroline and her husband invited us over to her house to watch firework at her apartment in Downtown.
The view was super cool!
Thanks Caro!

One of my dreams came true today!

Kent knows how much I love Sea Otters.
Like a lot!!!

So while Grandma Judy and Grandpa Keith took Will and Sam to the SD Zoo, Kent and I went to Sea World.

First thing we did was go on the Roller Coasters.
It was so nice going to a theme park without kids.
After that we went over to The Sea Otter exhibit to see the trainers feed the baby Sea Otters on the other side of the glass.

After Robby ( the Otter training) finished telling us about Otters, we went up to him and started asking him questions, and next thing you know, he took us in side the otter nursery! I'm not gonna lie, I almost cried. My inner child couldn't believe that I had the privilege of being up close!!!
Kent took some video of this experience too but i'll post that later.

Bucket List: Sea Otters up close..... CHECK!

So Will and I went to see a movie with my mom and our little cousins.
We saw King Fu Panda and the kids loved it.
